Welcome to Chess Academy Online. My name is Joe Hanley, chief instructor. I also own Hanley Chess Academy.
I am a certified United States Chess Federation master player. I have taught for 32 years now. Please see my resume here:

Online chess classes are a great way to learn chess. I offer each online chess class in private lessons (1 student) only.
We do this to ensure quality so that each student will improve each class step by step.
They are open to ages 6 - adult (ages 5 and under are best served by in-person lessons).

Pricing Options:

1. Trial or Evaluation (15-30 minutes) - $15
2. 30 minutes - $35
3. 45 minutes - $50
4. 1 hour - $65

When you purchase an online chess class, please note all lesson times are in Pacific Standard Time (PST).

How It Works:

Step 1: Audio & Video

I use the platform Zoom to both see and speak with the student. Once registration is received, I send the Zoom link to the parent.

Step 2: Chess Board & Pieces

Please watch this 3 minute and 48 second video to understand how we both are able to move the pieces and see the board.

Step 3: Purchase Your Trial Class/Evaluation or Your Class

Terms:

Please list the date and time you wish to have your class on the Zelle payment memo line. If that day and time are already scheduled by another student, I will email you back with the options I have available.

Payment is asked for prior to the start of class.

Upon payment, I send the Zoom link to you. Please include your email so I know where to send this Zoom link to.

Cancellations/Refunds/Changes: A 48 hour notice is required for any requests of a cancellation or refund.
